Anyone else all of a sudden start getting a bunch of spam in the last few days? I was using Contact Form 7 to have a bit more control around my contact form, but I started getting heavily spammed starting Thursday. I had been meaning to switch back over to just using Jetpack custom forms, but just didn’t take the time.
I took a little time swapping things back out, removing the plugin, and adding a new contact form on both my Contact and About pages. My apologies if you tried contacting me and I accidentally didn’t receive it, or I deleted thinking it’s spam.
I’m now down to 1 less plugin, so maybe the spam was a blessing in disguise?
Same thing happend to us a few months ago. I contacted JetPack support and they suggested not using Contact form 7. I’ve since moved over to Jetpack it cured 99% of the spam… we were getting over 200 per day! Annoying!
