Yesterday was quite the day! I was offered and amazing opportunity and accepted an internship with 8BIT. I have gotten to know the team through the last couple of years and have always had a dream to join them in their effort to rock the digital publishing space. Well now that dream is coming a reality. I’ll be getting a little taste of everything and be able to work with each team member. Here’s a brief list of what I’ll be doing:
- Significantly more involvement with the Support Forums. In fact, he’s done such a stellar job thus far that we’re giving him an enormous amount of freedom to run the forums. He’ll be working directly under Michael who will still oversee the forums.
- Contributing Posts here on the 8BIT blog.
- Writing Editorial Content for WP Daily several times per week.
- Developing several, official Standard child-themes of which we’ll be discussing later.
All of these things on this list and others that aren’t on will help me get closer to accomplishing a number of my goals for 2013. I’m especially excited about planning on visiting Atlanta, going to my first Wordcamp, and get to meet my teammates for the first time (other than Michael, but I still don’t see him enough).
So what does that mean for my personal blog?
Answer: I still plan on blogging quite frequently. You have only seen the beginning of me flexing my blogging muscles. The great thing is that 8BIT encourages it! No better way to understand your customers then walking in their shoes. I will also be contributing more often to the 8BIT blog and WPDaily as well, so I apologize in advance for the links I will be sharing here. I’ll be sure to continue to offer original content here and offer up those Standard Theme goodies and anything else I think is worth sharing.
Thanks for following and commenting on my blog. I really do appreciate it. It’s your comments and visits that have encouraged me to get to where I’m at now and helped me join the 8BIT team. You guys rock!
Any dreams for you this year? Dream Big!
